A better world = a better life.
A better world allows us to live out a better life.
What's the use of a fine house if you haven't got a tolerable planet to put it on?
Henry David Thoreau
The fact that we can become accustomed to anything, however disgusting at first, makes it necessary to examine carefully everything we have become accustomed to.
George Bernard Shaw
There are two primary choices in life: to accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them.
Dr. Denis Waitley
Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.
Individual commitment to a group effort – that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work.
The world is changed by your example, not your opinion.
We need people who can dream of things that never were.
John F. Kennedy
Some men see things as they are and say why – I dream things that never were and say why not.
George Bernard Shaw
Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify and vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as crazy, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.
The philosophers have only interpreted the world, in various ways; the point is to change it.

It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it!"
The inescapable failure of a society built upon growth and its destruction of the Earth's living systems are the overwhelming facts of our existence. As a result, they are mentioned almost nowhere. They are the 21st century's great taboo, the subjects guaranteed to alienate your friends and neighbours. We live as if trapped inside a Sunday supplement: obsessed with fame, fashion and the three dreary staples of middle-class conversation: recipes, renovations and resorts. Anything but the topic that demands our attention.
Few are those who see with their own eyes and feel with their own hearts.
In our struggle for freedom, truth is the only weapon we possess.

If your not pissed off at the world, you’re just not paying attention.
We are the legacy of 15 billion years of cosmic evolution. We have a choice. We can enhance life and come to know the universe that made us. Or we can squander our 15 billion year heritage in meaningless self destruction.
What do I think of Western civilization?
Short Story: Each of us doing our own little bit...
One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?” The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.” “Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make a difference!” After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said… ”I made a difference for that one.”
